Daniel Martín Martín and Exercise Intensity.

It is not easy to frame an author as complex as Daniel Martin. Perhaps the only constant throughout its extensive production is the intensity, plastic and expressive, which runs through all his work by conferring a certain aesthetic unity, not without reason, some of his works have come to be described as "a punch in the eye. "

Daniel has been building a unique graphic language that knows how to find the difficult balance between darkness and light (thanks to excellent management of the shadows and backlight), between sensitivity and expressive force. Thus achieving a bittersweet curious, as a gentle strength (or stronger smoothness) in which the opponents seem to melt and resolved in each frame.

All It also presents a carefully wrapped (almost obsessively) atmosphere sometimes confusing or comical, sometimes apocalyptic, always multiple, evoking the best Marco Grob.

It is surprising that an author so young Daniel was born in Madrid in 1982 - to move with ease in many records and graphic languages. Daniel, seems to dominate all the "sticks" of photography: religious series has a cool (almost sacred) irreverent, urban and natural landscapes with its peculiar stamp, as disturbing ... serenity, portrait art and conceptual digital composites and various "minimal series" where he experiments with lighting and textures, game spaces and perspectives.

Although his work has its own identity, we can highlight some clear influences (along with the aforementioned de Marco Grob). Throughout his work we have found, for instance, bizarre magic, a little like David la Chapelle, which gives some of his work a timeless mythical horizon, almost eternal. Also present some of the sleek sexiness of a Helmut Newton, (but far more modest, almost prudish). Although his treatment of the bodies, remember, rather, the unbridled Man Ray. It is with these pieces that has woven a solid style and personnel, both technical and intuitive and, above all, multifaceted.

Professionally, Daniel is becoming a reference point for Madrid's youth culture. He has worked in various magazines (Zero, InZone, Shanguide ...) and has done promotional photography for bands (I ole, Irbid ...). But the continuing exploration of this author has not been reduced to the level of the image, but you also have to highlight their love of music, electronic and experimental, which is being developed through events and performances in places of Madrid, in which sound and image share the spotlight, creating a powerful visual and seductive.

No doubt, Daniel Martin, is one of the most exciting young figures of contemporary photography that is beginning to bear fruit mature as you can see anyone who wants to take a walk through his work (WEB PAGE !!!). But, notice to mariners: the experience can be intense: Daniel Martin and delight not only results but also, catch and hit hard.

RAFA MILLAN.

Generation XXI.

Daniel Martin excels in his extraordinary ability to portray the intangible and create what impossible.
His photographs make their way into the heart of the viewer through the five senses.
In his landscapes, dyes apocalyptic, is silent, is heard alone, it feels empty, everything is quiet, you taste eternity.
In the animate, no. And in the inert, however, soul. Spinning their scenarios, not wanting to rebuild intensely vivid stories.
And as the waves splash the deep stillness of the ocean, also a certain dose of salt, noise and provocation that prove their versatility.

Marta Garcia Alcaraz.
